Interview Tips

I have an interview this week for a retail position with Diesel UK, so I've been doing some interview preparation. Here's the best advice I've found.

1. Make a good first impression - handshake, eye contact, small talk until interview, sell yourself in that first instance.
2. Be prepared - know your CV, know the job position you're applying for, and do your research thoroughly. Be prepared for salary discussion.
3. Be concise, don't waffle - answer questions properly, even if you need to pause to think about it.
4. Be ready to tell them why they should hire you - look at the qualities they advertised, and demonstrate how you meet those requirements with your experience, skills, knowledge and abilities.
5. Be positive - the interviewer will be thinking about what it's like to work with you, so be positive and enthusiastic
6. Watch your body language - don't fold your arms, lean back or look at the floor - sit up straight, maintain eye contact, use your hands and be engaging.
